A bird sleeps with one eye open. A mother does the same.

Sinigang is a traditional Filipino meal that my mother would make my sister and I almost every week. It comforted us as children, and today I am lucky to know the recipe by heart. Cooking was healing for my mother, at times of turmoil between her and my father. This film is for her, for her warmth that she provided both in the food she cooked and her presence. As a survivor of abuse this film is not only about our family, but of those who live through much more. I hope to bring a sense of reconciliation and freedom to those who watch, to those who know what this sort of domestic abuse is like. – artist statement, Amelia Earhart

Sinigang is currently in the process of festival submissions; the film will be available to the public on: N/A
